Thursday, October 11, Donita Aruny from the Shoreline Arts Alliance and I talked about the Tassy Walden Awards: New Voices in Children’s Literature, and about the process of writing and submitting children’s books for publication at the Barnes & Nobles in Canton, Connecticut.

Saturday, October 13, I was interviewed by Chris Velardi of WTNH, Channel 8 about No Castles Here for the Good Morning Connecticut Weekend show. A video of the interview will be up on the WTNH website here: A.C.E.’s interview.

Saturday November 10, we celebrated the publication of No Castles Here at the Cheshire Public Library. The Alphabet Garden sold out!

Tuesday, Nov. 6, I appeared at the Dartmouth Bookstore in Hanover, New Hampshire with fellow Class of 2k7 members Sarah Aronson, Greg R. Fishbone, Carrie Jones, Jo Knowles and Heather Tomlinson.

Wednesday, Nov. 7, the six of us reconvened at the Flying Pig Bookstore in Shelburne Vermont.

Sunday, December 9, long-time friend and first-class person Amy Eppler-Epstein organized a book party for No Castles Here. The profits from the sale of the books were donated to Read to Grow, a literacy program for Connecticut children. Madison bookstore R.J. Julia Booksellers supplied the books and made the donations possible.

December 6, I had visited the Derby Middle School and High School in Derby, Connecticut to give a book talk.

Saturday April 19 I visited Auntie Em’s Bookstore in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

April 14, Karen L. Day and I had a great visit at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library in Monroe, Connecticut.

October 14 I appeared at the West Hartford Barnes & Noble with Leslie Bulion and Doe Boyle to discuss tips on getting started in children’s book writing and the Tassy Walden Awards.

Saturday February 14, I appeared at The Alphabet Garden in Cheshire, Connecticut, for Kids Heart Authors Day with Tony Abbott, Leslie Bulion, Kate Duke, Kathleen Kudlinski, Donna Marie Merritt, and Pegi Deitz Shea.

Saturday, April 18 at the Barnes & Noble in North Haven Connecticut, I presented a half-hour writing workshop for teachers on sparking ideas for their middle grade and young adult students, then read from and signed paperback editions of No Castles Here.

Saturday, April 25 I presented a workshop entitled “Avoiding White Default” at the annual New England Society of Children’s Books Writers & Illustrators conference in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Wednesday, April 29 I was at the Korn School in Durham, Connecticut for their Writers’ Jubilee where I presented two workshops for third and fourth graders on “Sparking Ideas for a Story”

Saturday, May 16 I was among the presenters at the First Annual Hudson Children’s Book Festival in Hudson, New York.
